Together with the team, Roman builds digital products and brings AI into Rocket Tech’s work. He is personally involved in exploring ideas, testing hypotheses and creating the company’s internal tools.
He is currently moving Rocket Tech to an AI-native model, so that AI becomes part of everyday development and teamwork. He advises startups, shares his experience at conferences and is open to joint projects.
Current focus
- Working with the team. Helps apply AI in projects and everyday tasks, and discusses approaches and experiment results with developers.
- Research and internal products. Personally takes part in R&D, tests product hypotheses and works with the team to build tools for the company’s operations and client needs.
- AI in ongoing development. Builds AI into the entire product lifecycle: from requirements and design to code, review, release and support.
- Technology partnerships. Builds partnerships with OpenAI, Anthropic and Alibaba Cloud to grow Rocket Tech’s AI practice.

Author of Rocket Tech’s internal products. The company serves as its own R&D testing ground and brings to market only what it has first tested on itself.
Biography
Roman is a co-founder of Rocket Tech. He started as a full-stack developer in 2006, rose to CTO and COO, and in 2011 founded his own company together with Oleg Kachalin. Over the years, he has led teams of more than 200 specialists.
Since 2011, the company has been building digital products for banks, fintech companies and large businesses in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Its current focus is enterprise AI: LLM (large language model) integration, AI agents, search across corporate knowledge bases and secure deployment within the bank’s perimeter.
Since 2024, Roman has been developing Ready Bank, Rocket Tech’s platform for launching a digital bank: mobile banking, loan origination pipeline, CRM and scoring. In 2024, Ready Bank won the PLUS Galaxy Award Almaty 2024 in the “Promising fintech startup. Innovative company” category. One of the team’s published projects is CRM at Davr Bank: card issuance takes about 15 minutes instead of a day.
Graduated from the University of International Business with a degree in finance and information systems.

Roman is an Astana Hub mentor. He advises startups on team building, the technical side of the product and the business model. He helps founders work out which specialists they need at their current stage, where to start development and which assumptions to test before major investment.
