For more than 14 years, we have been building digital products, mobile apps and enterprise systems, and augmenting the teams of the largest fintech companies in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. We are now looking for a project manager.
Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan
Work format: hybrid (office + remote)
Manage end-to-end projects: from presale and initiation to release and handover to support.
Organise and maintain project documentation.
Plan work together with the technical team and take part in task estimation.
Manage the project backlog and control changes to requirements.
Identify and manage risks, dependencies and constraints.
Select and adapt the right development methodology (Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall) for each project and client.
Ensure the quality of task definitions and the consistency of requirements across all project participants.
Manage project economics: plan and control the budget, track margins.
Work with Fixed Price, Time & Material and Retainer contract models.
Handle resource planning and ensure timely billing.
Monitor project receivables.
Protect the agreed scope from unpaid expansion and help identify upsell opportunities.
Coordinate cross-functional teams of 5 to 15+ people (analysts, developers, QA, designers) in a matrix structure.
Remove blockers and help the team move towards its goals.
Run planning sessions, grooming, retrospectives and other team meetings.
Maintain a healthy working atmosphere and help resolve conflicts.
Manage client expectations and ensure transparent communication on project status, budget and risks.
Negotiate timelines, budget changes and escalations.
Prepare and deliver presentations, demos and status meetings for client stakeholders.
Build long-term partnerships with clients.
3+ years of commercial project management experience in outsourcing, custom development or IT consulting.
Hands-on experience running end-to-end projects.
Proficiency in Jira and Confluence, including workflow configuration.
Experience with Gantt charts, Miro, Figma or similar tools.
Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
Basic understanding of CI/CD processes and dev/test/prod environment separation.
Understanding of client-server architecture and how APIs, backend, databases and integrations work.
Experience with Agile approaches (Scrum, Kanban) and readiness to use hybrid project management models.
Strong communication skills, the ability to negotiate and make decisions under uncertainty.
Experience in fintech or banking projects.
Experience working with multiple teams and external contractors.
Financial planning and project profitability management skills.
Experience in presales and evaluating new initiatives.
Work on large-scale fintech projects with real impact on the product.

Organising planning and estimation with the technical team; identifying and managing project risks, dependencies and constraints.
Backlog management and maintenance
Selecting and adapting development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall) to the specific project and client.
Organising requirements management: quality control of specifications, change management.
Managing project economics: budget planning and control, tracking and improving margins.
Working with different contract models: Fixed Price, Time & Material, Retainer.
Controlling the resource plan, timely billing and monitoring accounts receivable.

Experience: 2–3+ years of commercial experience in outsourcing or custom development.
Tools: Jira/Confluence (including workflow setup), Gantt charts, Miro/Figma.
Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC), CI/CD processes and environment separation (dev/test/prod).
Basic understanding of client-server architecture (interaction between client, API, backend and database, integration logic).
